Truth and Reconciliation Week BUAPC (September 28 – October 4, 2026)

Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples’ Council (BUAPC) will lead a week of education, commemoration, and Indigenous celebration during Truth and Reconciliation Week 2026, running from Monday, September 28 to Sunday, October 4, at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.

The week features ceremonies, teachings, cultural demonstrations, music, film, and opportunities for community members to come together in the spirit of reconciliation. 

The Orange Shirt Day Walk will take place on Wednesday, September 30, marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Participants can take part in the 7 km walk or a 1 km mini walk, honouring Survivors, families, and all those impacted by residential schools. The day also includes traditional ceremonies, food, and cultural programming.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend all events throughout the week. Truth and Reconciliation Week is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and walk together on the journey of healing.
