UPCOMING EVENTS & DATES

Friday, November 28th - PD Day, No School

Ms. Pitcairn would like to extend her thanks to the cast and crew of “Once Upon a One More Time” for their time, work and talents to make this year’s show a success. Thank you to the staff leaders who made all of the magic behind the scenes happen. And a special thank you to the staff and students who supported the show and were a terrific audience.

We would also like to thank Mr. Wedgewood and to Ms. Pitcairn for their wonderful direction and all their hard work. We congratulate Ms. Pitcairn on directing her last show, after putting on 25 shows at Massey!

Next week, our school will be participating in Dressember to raise awareness and funds to combat human trafficking around the world. Student council is encouraging everyone to dress formally, and we will also be selling awareness pins and bracelets throughout the week. Be sure to dress your best!

There will be an Indoor Track and Field Meeting in the Library today at 4:00pm.  See Mr. Jones if you have any questions.

SPORTS

The varsity girls volleyball team won their quarterfinal match on Saturday at Massey against Kelvin. The team kept the pressure on and won in straight sets. Their next match is Wednesday night at the University of Manitoba against Sturgeon Heights for the semifinals. Congratulations to Hannah McGregor for being selected as the Number 1 Player in the province for the Winnipeg Free Press coach’s poll. And congratulations to Zoe Redekop for being ranked 10th on the coach’s poll.

A big shout-out to our JV girls volleyball team who represented our school at Provincials last week! The team worked incredibly hard, played with heart, and had a lot of fun throughout the tournament. Their season came to an end on Friday after a tough battle, falling in four sets — but we couldn’t be prouder of their effort, teamwork, and determination. Great job on an amazing season, girls!

The Varsity Boys played well and battled hard in the quarter finals on Saturday against the number two team and fell short in the 5th set.

The JV boys battled hard but fell short in the Quarter Finals but fell short. It was a great season with a ton of growth.

A big Thank-you goes out to all our students and staff who represented the school last night at our VM Hockey home opener. Your energy helped us clip the Klippers and come away with a 6-3 victory to add to our win on Saturday in Virden. A couple of practices this week and then we play in the 24-team Crocus Plains tournament on the weekend.

Varsity Boys Basketball Tryouts continue today from 8:30-10pm.  See Mr. Nohr for any questions.

Keep your eye on the announcements and gym bulletin board for all other upcoming tryout dates.
